Technically Addicted
A new study from the Kaiser Family Foundation reports that the average American child spends more than nine hours a day using technology - cell phones, computers, television, iPods, or other electronic devices - sometimes two or more at once.
The heaviest users - those who used technology at least 16 hours a day - did worse in school and were more likely to report that they were bored or sad, did not get along with their parents, or got into trouble at school. The study did not address the question of whether heavy use of technology caused these problems or resulted from them.
Do you know what your kid is doing right now?
