This ought to be taken up by epidemiologists and family medicine; it is a disaster and surely the hidden social costs are massive.  What is the built-in devaluation of the alleged education? And this is without even bringing in to play the cohort of other **social** diseases graduates leave with, not so easily remedied by a couple of days of good bed rest.
