It’s not the earth the meek inherit, it’s the dirt

According to this story from Toronto Life Magazine, there are some Toronto public schools that are as bad as the worst American inner city schools. Certainly this school's EQAO results are pretty bad, way below the provincial averages, which are pretty bad themselves. For example, just over half of the grade 3 students at this school are reading well enough to tackle the work of the next grade (of course they will be promoted to grade 4 anyway).

In the US, failing inner city schools like this have galvanized parents and even politicians to press for radical changes, including charter schools and school vouchers, because the problem is so stark. But in Canada, we are apparently too polite.

Where's the outrage? H/T TB

We need journalism to expose it .that`s one thought.
I find what I see and hear about absolutely unbelievable..there`s zero accountability.

Where`s the outrage indeed?

Parents are too busy working to notice that they have little or no rights left, because the government has been steadily encroaching on them.

With all the sexual filth in the public schools, the promotion of alternative lifestyles, promiscuity (through Planned Parenthood), pornographic material, etc. there is little or no time left for the acquisition of academic excellence.

Parents need to wake up and take control of what their children are being taught - do they want responsible, educated teenagers preparing for the workforce, or are they satisfied with a bunch of rowdies demanding handouts?

The government needs to hear the outrage of the parents.  Of course, we have a bunch of politicians in control who have their own agenda for our kids.  And I forgot, there are the unions that work in sync with the government to dumb down our kids.

Be polite and respectful. Stay on-topic. State your position clearly and write succinctly. Provide support for claims. Don't hog the microphone. Strong opinions are OK, but outrage is not. Don't post just to upset others.
