It’s amazing what you can get free on the Net these days

Just a short posting today to draw your attention to a wonderful free website for teaching reading - Starfall. And, in addition to all kinds of reading stuff, there is some enrichment in areas like music, art, and poetry.

POSTED ON BEHALF OF MONIKA

Yes! Starfall! Have used it with my kids for years. They loved it, and tuned in every day for a while to complete the calendar. I then gave them a requirement to complete a unit, starting with the phonics, progressing to reading. We just stumbled across it when I was looking for resources for them. We all loved the alphabet song.

Another good one (not as good as Khan, but it?s worth the drill) is http://www.aaamath.com
I get the girls to do the drills every once in a while. It can go on forever, and you can print out their results to keep in file.

Another one from UofW is http://cemc2.math.uwaterloo.ca/mathfrog/main.shtml
A little cumbersome, but has some good concepts enforced.

When homeschooling I found hundreds of useful sites. They?re all bookmarked, so if someone is looking, I probably have it. And they?re all FREE!
