Do Or Die Charter School Lotteries

I am not going to comment on the Liberal majority result in yesterday's Ontario election except to say that only an uneducated populace could believe that the Liberals will be able to pay for all the things they have promised and still balance the budget.

Instead, to counter all the doom and gloom in Ontario today, here is a piece from the Onion about a new lottery procedure for charter school admission. The article is a bit over the top, but it does powerfully convey how arbitrary the process is - and how serious, not to mention unfair, the consequences are.
